MAUL'S BIRTH NAME, comes from three words from my made-up zabraki / iridonian language (which is based on an unfinished fan-made zabraki language that was made in the mid 2000s for rp purposes. google "ul'zabraki" and you'll find it)

“Am’ayru” ('ɑm-ɑɪ-ʁʊ') is his full name and speaking it all out would be considered a little formal. in casual speech it can be shortened as one of the following:Ayru (neutral), Am'ay (neutral), Amru (somewhat intimate), M’ru (intimate), Aru (intimiate), Ru (neutral, foreign-sounding to zabraki ears), Am (neutral, same as the former).Most people outside his immediate circle know him either by an alias or by no name at all. If they know his name from eavesdropping or overhearing it, it’s most likely “Ayru”.

this is a work in progress!! the point of this section is to give you guys a rough recap of the broad strokes of Ayru's life. This section will likely be expanded over time.

IRIDONIA,  53 BBY - 48 BBY,
A child, as red as the dunes of Menet'edalinare*, is born under the scorching Iridonian midsummer sun. In accordance with tradition, the child is given the name "Am'ayru". He is raised by a clan of 30, who live in a village nestled in the mountains to the north of a larger city in the flatlands.Under the cover of Iridonia's largest and smallest moons, a cloaked human arrives at the village. After the bloodshed subsides and the light falls in careful amber streaks over the sloped land, only one jhere*, a small boy, is left alive. The cloaked man takes him to Mustafar, a secluded planet far away from the place he once called home.

ORSIS ACADEMY,  43 BBY - 37 BBY,
Sidious leaned close to Maul and whispered, “Select the largest and most muscular student. Introduce yourself. Hurt him. No killing.”The Academy offered a reprieve from the social isolation that had been his life for the past five years. However, the boy - now dubbed "Maul" - knew better than to get too comfortable at the school for assassins, spies, and soldiers. Although it was against Republic law for a Force-sensitive student to be enrolled, it came as no surprise to Maul that his master was able to operate outside and above the rules that governed nigh the rest of the galaxy.Despite his best efforts, he becomes fast friends with an older student - a Nautolan girl named Kilindi. Her eyes, smiling, large and black, reflect his own blank face back to him. He found himself caring for her, though he dared not admit that to himself.He saw a figure, a man who wore dark gray body armor and whose head was concealed by a helmet with a distinctive T-visor. The armored man held a dart pistol in one hand and had a missile launcher secured to his back. A Mandalorian.Enter: Meltch Krakko, a former Academy instructor who had returned to his clan owing to the Mandalorian civil war. How Sidious had conjured up his return, Maul did not know. Though, he suspected it was through blackmail rather than the goodness of Krakko's heart. What he could not have predicted was that Krakko would take him under his wing. Perhaps he was impressed with Maul's near-encyclopedic knowledge of Mandalorian culture and history, or maybe it was just a ruse, some elaborate test orchestrated by his Master. After all, Sidious was the one who had insisted on Krakko's presence at the Academy.Either way, Maul knew it wouldn't last. Nothing good ever did.(to be continued)

BOUNTY HUNTER,  (date here),
Barely clinging to life, his lower body severed from halfway down his thighs, he claws his way up from the depths of Naboo. Guided solely by the sun, he arrives at a grassy field before succumbing to unconsciousness once again. His survival is owed to the mercy of the nearby villagers who discover him. Startled by the sight of a young offworlder on the brink of death, they bring him to their healer and craft rudimentary prosthetics. Lacking the technology for a fully cybernetic replacement, their efforts are limited. He stays in a coma for a week, dreaming of his ancestors, glimpses of his past and future. The soothing voice of his mother returns the name which was stolen from him by his abductor.Eventually, he wakes-- And waits. He wonders if his failure on this planet pushed him beyond forgiveness, if that is why his master has made no attempts to contact him. Concealing his presence in the Force is second nature to him, he does it even now, does Sidious even know he survived? Thoughts of his dreams return to him, voices from his past and from before his time echoing one creed to him: break your chains.He leaves in the dead of night in a stolen ship, not one word spoken to the humans since they found him. He should have killed them all, it would've been safer. Before he leaves the planet he retraces his path and finds half of his own lightsaber, along with Obi-Wan's.(to be continued)
